Further contributing to the appeal of this quiet, seemingly isolated neighborhood are the many vibrant commercial strips located along its boundaries, including Avenue U, Gerritsen Avenue, Flatbush Avenue, and Flatlands Avenue. The neighborhood also boasts an abundance of playgrounds and parks, as well as a diverse school system, including several private school options in Marine Park and nearby Old Mill Basin and Sheepshead Bay. Additional Marine Park attractions include Salt Marsh Nature Center, Salt Marsh Nature Trails, Carmine Carro Community Center, Gerritsen Creek, Brennan and Carr, Nick’s Lobster Restaurant and Seafood Market, Marine Park Golf Course, and Michael’s of Brooklyn, to name a few.
